FEUP - Services Engineering and Management Master Program

Acronym: MESG - Mestrado em Engenharia de Serviços e Gestão

Today, the service sector represents more than 70% of production and employment in the most developed world economies, and its relevance is increasing everywhere. Service provision involves people, processes and technologies. As such, developing and managing services requires multidisciplinary competences in diverse areas, such as technology and social sciences.

The Master in Service Engineering and Management (MESG) aims at developing competences to conceive, design, implement and operate technology enabled service systems.

The study plan of MESG comprises three semesters with courses, including individual and group projects, and one semester for a master dissertation, either a research project at FEUP or an internship project in a company. Each of the three semesters involves elective courses, in a total of five disciplines per semester. The plan of studies can be adapted to each student’s background and desired specialization profile.

Who can apply
MESG is directed to graduates in Engineering, Science, Economics or Management, who want to develop their career in service development, design and management, either in service or in manufacturing industries.

Application requirements
MESG candidates must have a good BSc first degree or equivalent degree (180 ECTS) in Engineering, Engineering Sciences, Computing, Mathematics, Economics or Management. According to each candidate’s background, a plan of studies can be defined to best complement previous competences. English proficiency is required.
