Managing Innovation Course

Objectives, Skills and Learning Outcomes

To disseminate knowledge in the area of Innovation Management, that on one hand makes students able to initiate research and, on the other hand provides them basic tools to analyse processes of creation and innovation and their implication in management, by exploring the ways through which innovation can be stimulated in organisations.

Program

Class 1- Research in Innovation Management (IM) – presentation of the methodology of scientific research
Class 2 – Research in IM – analysis of bibliographic databases; discussion of research subjects
Class 3 – Key factors in IM
Class 4 – Managing innovation as a process
Class 5 – Development of a structure for an innovation structure
Class 6 – Portuguese and competitive context
Class 7 – Exploitation of technological trajectories
Class 8 – Integration and strategic learning
Class 9 – Markets and alliances: R&D cooperation
Class 10 – Intellectual property and licensing strategy
Class 11 – Business plan and new projects financing
Class 12 – Presentation of group assignments
